Martin Algie, Director

Martin is a commercial lawyer with more than 20 years’ experience, particularly in the distribution of product, with firms including Freehills, Minter Ellison and Baker & McKenzie. He has drafted hundreds of procurement, supply and service contracts, and joint venture, franchise and shareholder agreements. Martin is Legal Counsel to Apotex, one of Australia’s leading generic pharmaceutical suppliers. Martin is also an experienced teacher, having trained clients in many aspects of compliance.

Josephine Tan, Consultant

Josephine has extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts across a range of industries. She spent eight years at global law firm Baker & McKenzie managing a number of major merger and acquisition transactions. Since then, she has been General Counsel at VicForests where her focus was on contracts and strategic matters including risk management, debt recovery and litigation strategies. Prior to joining MIA Contract Lawyers, she held the dual role of Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary for ASX listed Engenco Limited.

Amy Ward, Consultant

Amy has over 12 years experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors with Norton Rose Fulbright, K&L Gates and the South Australian Attorney-General’s Department, advising on commercial and construction deals. Amy has extensive international experience, working for a number of years in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar and Oman.

Sarah Horner, Special Counsel

Sarah is on maternity leave until July 2019.

Sarah a senior litigator with extensive experience in contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, building and construction disputes, enforcement of securities and debt recovery. Sarah has a particular specialty in personal and corporate insolvency and corporate recovery, regularly representing local and national accounting firms, financial lenders, propitiatory companies, business owners and individuals.
